I am interested in what stays.
In people, that is memory and character: what a life keeps, and what it engraves. In the things we are now building, it is the same question asked from the other side. What would it take for something built to live alongside us for years, to be changed by that, and to be trusted?
I work on the security side of that question, which is less a job than a way of asking it: what a thing that remembers may be shown, whom it may tell, and what it must never be able to do, no matter what it reads. The essay underneath all of it is What Stays.
